Sharlene O’Reilley
M.C., RCC, ACS

Bio
Sharlene O’Reilly, MC, RCC-ACS, is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Approved Clinical Supervisor serving clients and counsellors in Kelowna and across British Columbia. She offers counselling for teachers, helping professionals, individuals, and couples, as well as clinical supervision for counsellors and interns who want to grow in confidence, skill, and sustainability in their work.
Over the course of her career, Sharlene has walked alongside people facing complex trauma, anxiety, burnout, relationship strain, and faith or identity transitions. She understands how life can feel overwhelming when you are the one others come to for support—whether you are a teacher, counsellor, parent, leader, or caregiver. Her calm, grounded presence helps clients slow down, make sense of their stories, and reconnect with what matters most.
As a clinical supervisor, Sharlene is passionate about supporting new and experienced counsellors as they develop their therapeutic voice, integrate best practices, and care for their own wellbeing. She brings a reflective, strengths-based style that invites curiosity, ethical awareness, and compassion—for clients and for self.
Sharlene’s Counselling Approach
Sharlene’s approach is relational, trauma-informed, and attachment-based, with a strong emphasis on nervous-system awareness and practical tools that clients can bring into everyday life. She draws from modalities such as Emotion-Focused Therapy, narrative approaches, and somatic-informed practices, adjusting her pace to match the client’s readiness and capacity.
In supervision, Sharlene offers a collaborative, mentorship-oriented space where counsellors can explore clinical questions, case conceptualization, ethical dilemmas, and personal reactions to their work. She supports supervisees in integrating theory with practice, building confidence with complex cases, and developing sustainable rhythms that reduce the risk of compassion fatigue and burnout.
Whether you are meeting with Sharlene for personal counselling or clinical supervision in Kelowna or online across BC, you can expect a steady, thoughtful presence and an environment where your voice, values, and professional judgment are respected.
Counselling Specialties
- Teachers & Helping Professionals
- Trauma, Anxiety & Life Transitions
- Clinical Supervision for Counsellors & Interns
Sharlene offers specialized counselling for teachers, counsellors, and helping professionals who carry a high emotional load in their work. She understands the unique pressures of supporting others—limited resources, complex systems, and the expectation that you will always “hold it together.”
Sessions focus on creating space for your own story: unpacking chronic stress, identifying early signs of burnout, and exploring the beliefs that keep you over-functioning. Together, you will work toward healthier boundaries, sustainable self-care, and a renewed sense of purpose in your role, whether you are in the classroom, the counselling room, or another helping profession.
With formal RCMP Restorative Justice training and years of experience facilitating victim–offender dialogues, Sharlene brings a restorative, relational lens to healing work. She understands how deeply conflict, betrayal, and emotional disconnection can impact a person’s sense of safety and identity.
In this area of her practice, Sharlene supports clients who are:
– Recovering from relational wounds or attachment injuries
– Navigating workplace or team conflict
– Trying to rebuild trust after emotionally difficult experiences
– Wanting healthier, more honest communication in key relationships
Her approach is gentle yet honest, helping you understand your emotional responses, clarify boundaries, and cultivate more connected, resilient relationships with yourself and others. This approach is especially helpful for educators, leaders, and community-minded professionals seeking relationship counselling and conflict recovery in Kelowna.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the RCC-ACS designation, Sharlene provides reflective, structured supervision for both new and experienced clinicians. Her supervision style blends clinical insight, leadership experience, and a strong focus on therapist wellness, creating a grounded space for honest conversation about real work with real clients.
Supervision with Sharlene may include:
– Case consultation and treatment planning
